In accordance with the requirements of the building regulations as to buildings and their location, fire resisting door and windows that are to be installed in the openings of vertical separating elements in a building should be designed and constructed in such a way, that in case of fire:
- prevent fire from spreading;
- limit the spread of fire and smoke in the building to other rooms and zones;
- limit the spread of fire to other buildings;
- allow the evacuation of building occupants by limiting the level of heat radiation;
- ensure safety and facilitate the operation of emergency crews.
Anti-fire Aluminum Door
•Primary Function: This door is designed to withstand fire for a specified period, thus limiting the spread of fire from one area to another. It is used to protect certain sections of the building, such as technical rooms, passageways between floors, or areas where flammable materials are stored.
•Characteristics: It is made from fire-resistant materials, such as treated aluminum or other composites. Anti-fire doors are tested and certified to withstand high temperatures for a certain duration (typically between 30 and 120 minutes). Their closing mechanism is automatic or controlled to effectively seal the affected area.
•Material: The Anti-fire Aluminum door is, as the name suggests, made from aluminum, but in a specially treated variant to enhance fire resistance.
Fire Escape Door
•Primary Function: Designed to allow for the rapid evacuation of people from a building in the event of a fire or other emergency. It is typically placed in strategic locations, such as hallways or common areas, and leads directly to a safe exit route, such as an external staircase or a safe outdoor area.
•Characteristics: These doors must open easily, even under pressure, to facilitate quick evacuation. They usually have a panic bar, which allows the door to be opened by simply pushing it.
•Material: Fire Escape doors can be made from various materials, upvc or aluminium, but they are not necessarily fire-resistant for long periods. The focus is on accessibility and ease of opening, rather than fire protection.
